Judy, you are singing my song . As I was out hiking here in Norway this morning, I was thinking about how I want to continue to be young longer. Americans have a shorter lifespan than other large wealthy countries our size, and we need to reverse that. I would love to have another 30 years of youthful living yet!

"We will not be ‘old’ longer; we’ll be young longer." Amen!

I recently watched the 2023 Netflix documentary: Live to 100: Secrets of the Blue Zones. Very thought provoking!

Oooh, love all the inspirational snippets from this post! It gave me pause to reflect on considering each day as the beginning of a multi-stage life, especially during the period when we are more or less “counting down.” There’s a morning prayer in Judaism that helps me wake up to new possibilities: “Lord, thank You for this day. I ask that You would guide my path today and, more specifically, my thoughts, words and actions. Please be with me throughout the day and help me navigate whatever comes my way. Most importantly, help me to reflect and live out my life in a way that is honoring to You.”

Judy, thanks for sharing this. Admittedly I've never thought of this before. But you're right in terms of 'younger' v. 'older' longer. It's interesting to me as well that our perception of how young/old the people are in our lives (and their perception of us) also seem to affect this?
